Fluento's Spanish teachers are professional language instructors, dedicated to teaching the Spanish language to international students. Most have attended university, studying in a wide variety of fields, in addition to having a certificate as a teacher of Spanish as a second language. They are also well versed in Latin American culture, history, politics and society and enjoy sharing their experiences with students as part of the class content.
Below are brief descriptions of some of our teachers. Although in general we tend to discourage choosing a teacher on background or personality, preferring to recommend them on their methodology and overall abilities as teachers, we recognize that some students feel more comfortable with one or another teacher based on their biographical information.
Pablo has a degree in Applied Linguistics in English, and an ESPE Teaching Spanish Course provided by IE International as well as a Master's in Theology. He has been teaching Spanish in Quito for 25 years. He has worked with children for online classes from as young as 9, but is comfortable with students of all ages. He has a lot of experience with DELE preparation and Medicine program. Pablo speaks intermediate English. He is interested in Bible studies, English, Languages in general, and Music.
María has a degree from the Universidad Central del Ecuador in languages, with a focus on English and French. She also has a diploma in teaching Spanish as a second language from the New Life School at Loja University and Catholic University. She has been teaching Spanish in Quito for 19 years. She has worked extensively with children for online classes from as young as 9, but is comfortable with students of all ages. María speaks intermediate English and a little French. She is interested in dance, literature, geography and history, hiking, and sports (volleyball).
Gerardo has many years of experience in the teaching of the Spanish language. He has been a Spanish teacher for 15 years and has worked for us for 5 years. During this time he has developed his teaching style and resources to offer a wide range of possibilities. He is flexible in his teaching methods and knows how to adapt to the level and style of learning of each student.
Gisella holds a degree in Business Administration for Tourism Enterprises from the Universidad Teconológico Equinoccial. She has been teaching Spanish to foreigners for over 10 years, working with us for 8 years. She has worked with children as young as 4-years old, and has taught children online as well as working with Asian students online and other students for the past 4 years.
Sandra has a diploma in teaching Spanish as a second language from the International Teaching Spanish Certificate. She has been teaching Spanish in Quito for 4 years, to different levels and ages, as well as many South Korean students, assisting with reading, writing and conversational Spanish, as well as teaching business Spanish. Sandra speaks advanced English (IELTS level 6.0). She is highly motivated and flexible as a teacher. Having lived and worked abroad, She has a rich understanding of people and cultures and excellent communication skills. She enjoys photography, traveling, reading and writing poetry.
Evelyn lives in Quito and has a diploma in teaching Spanish as a second language and has been teaching Spanish in Quito for 5 years both to students in Quito and online. She has worked with students of all ages and levels, particularly beginners and intermediate students. Evelyn speaks English and Italian. She is very interested in learning languages and travel.
Andrés has a background in engineering. He also has a diploma in teaching Spanish as a second language. Andrés has been teaching Spanish in Quito for over 2 years, and has focused on developing communication methodology as promoted by the Instituto Cervantes. He has worked with students of all ages. He has taught Spanish for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Andrés speaks intermediate English and advanced Portuguese. He is interested in geography, history, hiking and nature. He loves biking and he traveled around South America for 3 years by bicycle.
Jhon Jairo is a student of Human Resource Management at Cordillera Institute. He also has a diploma in teaching Spanish as a second language. He has been teaching Spanish in Quito for over 2 years, and has developed a dynamic and thoughtful approach to his teaching. He has worked mostly with beginners and younger students. Jhon speaks basic English. He is interested in sports (football) music, and films.
